Microblading FAQs

  • What is microblading and how does it work?

Microblading is a manual "hand" method of permanent cosmetics for your eyebrows which creates extremely fine natural looking hair strokes. The results? Perfectly natural looking, thick, full brows. The procedure lasts about two hours.

During the procedure, the pigment is applied with a specific tool that has a row of several fine needles to create thin hair like marks in the skin. Your artist will choose needles and the blade type according to the technique and the skin type. The pigment is bladed just below the epidermis and the most shallow part of the dermis, making extremely fine natural looking hair strokes. A very natural result is achieved, as the hairs are bladed into the skin according to the natural hair growth direction. A touch up is included 4-6 weeks after your initial treatment.

  • How long do permanent brows last?

Depending on your skin type and care, the pigment will fade slowly over 18-24 months.

  • What if I am allergic or have sensitive skin?

If you have skin sensitivities, I do offer a patch test for the local anesthetic and pigments. Our pigments are by Perma Blend and are certified vegan and nickel free. If you wish to take the patch test prior to your service, please let me know and a you will need to arrive 15 minutes early.

    • Shower and fix your hair as you need to take extra care not to get your brows wet for several days.
  • What can I expect during my service?

Here's a quick rundown of a typical service provided:

Before the appointment begins, the artist will provide a quick consultation to discuss expectations and results of the treatment. The artist then draws on the eyebrow shape. Brows are measured perfectly to complement your unique face shape and size. Next, the artist chooses the perfect color. Initial strokes are placed, then anesthetic is applied to reduce any discomfort. Pigment is worked into each stroke to define the brow. After, a pigment mask is left to absorb into the skin. Once that's finished, the artist cleans the area thoroughly. After the service, the artist will apply a sealing cream that will remain on the skin for 12-24 hours.

  • Is there any after-procedure care?

Yes! Make sure to avoid ALL of the following:

    • Increased sweating, practicing sports, swimming, hot sauna, hot bath or jacuzzi, sun tanning or salon tanning.
    • Any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycol Acid on the face or neck.
    • Picking, peeling or scratching of the micro pigmented area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment.
    • Performing tasks related to heavy household cleaning such as garage or basement cleaning where there is a lot of airborne debris.
    • Drinking alcohol in excess as it may lead to slow healing of wounds.
    • Driving in open air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles or motorcycles.
    • Touching of the eyebrow area except for when rinsing and applying the post-care cream with a cotton swab.

Before showering apply a layer of post-care cream to protect your eyebrows from moisture. During the shower keep your face away from the shower head. Itching and flaking may appear during the first seven days post permanent makeup procedure, However, experience has shown that by following these aftercare instructions these symptoms may quickly disappear.

Once completely healed, always apply a layer of sunscreen SPF 30 on your eyebrows when exposed to the sun. Sun exposure might cause the color pigment to fade away more quickly.

  • What happens during the touch-up?

The touch up is recommended 4-6 weeks after initial treatment. During your touch up, the artist will fill in any missing hairs, add or make hairs longer, or achieve a darker color if neccessary.

  • What is the healing process like?

Your new eyebrows will go through several phases during the healing cycle. True reflection of healed color can only be assessed 4-5 weeks after treatment. Touch-ups and/or correction of the shape/design is recommended at least 4 weeks after initial treatment. It will go from too dark, to too light, to just right!

Immediately after the procedure, the pigment will appear very sharp and dark. This is because the pigment is still sitting on top of your skin and has not yet settled in completely. The color of the pigment will soften gradually (do not be alarmed if you see some pigment on the cotton swab as this is excess pigment and/or body fluid that is naturally exiting your skin).

Once the healing of the skin starts taking place it will look like dandruff flakes or scabs. This might give you the impression that the color pigment is fading too quickly. However, this is just superficial color and dry skin being naturally removed from your eyebrows.

Your eyebrows will be the lightest tones during days 5-12 because the color is absorbed in the deeper layers of the skin. Later skin cells push it back to the upper layers. Once the healing is completed, you will enjoy a pair of beautiful, new, natural looking eyebrows.

Microchanneling FAQs

  • What is Microchanneling?

Microneedling is also known as skin-needlling, dry-needling, dermarolling, vampire facial, or Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT). It is a minimally invasive non-surgical and non-ablative procedure for facial annd body rejuvenation using tiny, sterilized needles to puncture the skin and used to create a controlled injury. These micro-injuries create a channel that triggers the body to produce new collagen, elastin, and active growth factors such as Fibroblasts and Melanocytes.

  • How long does it take to see results from microneedling?

Patients typically notice an immediate glow within the first few days, but the most visible improvement will take place 2-4 weeks and continue improving for 3 months.

  • How often should you get microneedling?

Micro-needling can be repeated every 3-4 week suntil you achieve the desired results. For collagen industion, we recommend to start with 3 treatments. For scar reduction, an average of 3-6 treatments are recommended with at least 1-3 months apart depending on the depth of the treatment.

  • How long does redness last after microneedling?

The severity of redness will depend on the depth of treatment performed and your skin's individual tolerance. Skin could be very or minimally red with a sunburn-like effect and usually subsides within 1-3 days. The skin will feel tight, dry, swollen, and sensitive to the touch. The treated area may temporarily appear darker and the darker skin may appear darker and the darkened touch may flake within 1 week.

  • What does the procedure entail?

After cleansing the treated area, a numbing agent will be applied 20 minutes prior to the procedure. A  hyaluronic acid serumis used to glide the device evenly over a small section moving it in 4 different directions until the entire face or area to the treated is covered.

  • What are the benefits of microneedling?

Microneedling diminishes and improves the apprearance of acne scars, rosacea, stretch marks, pore size, skin texture/tone, skin wrinkles and fine expression lines, hyperpigmentation including melasma and hair growth/hair loss. It has a firming and rejuvenating effect, and allows for deeper product penetration.

Tattoo Removal FAQs

  • How is saline tattoo removal done?

The Saline Method is applied using traditional tattoo equipment in a very similiar fashion to how your original tattoo was first applied. In place of ink, a saline solution is used which penetrates the deeper layer of the skin to bond with ink molecules. As time passes the body naturally recognizes these particles as foreign and pushes them to the surface of the skin, forming a scab that later heals free of any tattoo dye.

  • Is the saline method an effective alternative to laser tattoo removal?

The Saline Tattoo Removal Method is an effective method of tattoo elimination that has various advantages over traditional laser therapies. The Saline Method is effective on all types of tattoos, regardless of age, color, and location. The Saline Method is relatively painless in coparison to other methods of removal which can cause blistering or potential scar formation. A pre-numbing treatment is also used to prevent as much discomfort as possible. Treatment time and expense is also greatly reduced with the Saline Method because fewer treatments are neccessary to obtain desired results.

Laser treatments are traditionally very expensive, painful, and cannot treat certain ink colors due to the lasers inability to breakdown lighter colors or colors that are very similar to the patients skin tone. Similarly, older tattoos are harder to remove and ink which has been placed in the deep layers of the skin is not reachable by conventional lasers.
