Permanent Makeup Post Care

Keep treated area dry for the first 4 hours post procedure. After four hours you can begin the following aftercare regime:

  1. Wash the treated area with a mild cleanser morning and night and splash with water/no soap throughout the day.
  2. Dab professional grade healing balm to the treated area after wetting to lock-in moisture.  (no petroleum based products)
  3. Repeat steps 4 times a day to prevent the area from becoming dry and crusty.
  4. Continue these steps for 5-7 days or until all flakes are gone.

DO NOT

  • PICK, RUB, SCRATCH, OR WIPE. FLAKES MUST FALL OFF NATURALLY
  • STAY AWAY FROM DIRT, GARDENING AND SPORTING ACTIVITIES
  • AVOID TANNING BEDS, SUN, POOLS, AND DIRECT WATER PRESSURE
  • DO NOT TAKE STEAMY SHOWERS/BATHS AND AVOID EXERCISE, SAUNAS AND HOT TUBS
  • USE OF RETIN A, RETINOL A, RENOVA, GLYCOLIC, LACTIC ACIDS OR SIMILAR LIGHTENING PRODUCTS WILL CAUSE PREMATURE FADING.
  • WEAR SPF30+ WHEN OUTSIDE.
  • CONSULT A PHYSICIAN IF SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF INFECTION SUCH AS EXCESSIVE FEVER, EXCESSIVE REDNESS, EXCESSIVE SWELLING OR EXCESSIVE DRAINAGE OCCUR.

What to expect as you heal:

Day 1-2

The treated area will be red/pink and swollen

Day 2-4

The color will darken, because the treated area is healing

Day 4-7

The treated area may feel itchy, dry and hard. DO NOT TOUCH (keep area moist, see instructions above)

Day 7-10

The treated area will look uneven, patchy and faded (do not panic the skin is healing)

Day 10-12

Pigment will appear very light immediately after the flakes come off. Once your skin tissue repairs itself you will see more pigmentation return to the surface

Day 12-30

You will see true pigment color 30 days after procedure

You will need a touch-up after 4-6 weeks for final result.

Following Aftercare instructions helps give the best retention results possible for your investment. Every persons skin and body is unique. We cannot guarantee how your body will retain the pigment once implanted. This is a risk that is involved when choosing permanent make-up.
